The for sale sign is still up, however, there is a deal on paper for purchasing the Gufler Mansion.
The only question now is when, or if, the interested buyers will put pen to paper according to current owner Brad Cochennet who says the potential buyers are being very “thoughtful” with the process. That being said, Cochennet tells KVOE News he is optimistic a deal could be locked up soon.
While he could not reveal the identity of the interested party, he did say it is a couple and they are intent on maintaining the Cochennet’s vision for the business, while implementing their own ideas as well.
While the contracts have been drawn up, Cochennet says the interested buyers did give him and his wife, Susan Cochennet, the go-ahead to continue hearing offers from other prospective buyers.
The Cochennets have owned the Gufler Mansion since 2016 and purchased it as a way to take care of Brad’s mother, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, before diving into the bed-and-breakfast business model it has become known for. The couple announced the sale of the property earlier this year citing a desire to be closer to family including Susan’s parents and their six children and nine grandchildren.
