The Kansas State baseball team jumped out to a 7-0 lead through three innings and won the Fayetteville Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament with a 7-2 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark. The Wildcats plated four in the second off singles by David Bishop, Danniel Rivera, and Brendan Jones before tacking on three in the third with Bishop and Jones delivering again with RBI singles. Jones finished 3-for-5 with a game-high three RBI’s while Bishop drove in two and scored two. Chuck Ingram was 3-for-4 with two runs for the Bat Cats. Ty Ruhl went 4.0 innings in his start giving up just two hits but was ineligible for the win. Cole Wisenbaker (4-0) pitched the next three innings and struck out three to earn the victory for KSU. The Wildcats face #8 Virginia in their Super Regional this week. The winner of the best two-of-three series will advance to the College World Series.
