First court appearances are coming later this month for the two individuals arrested following a stabbing incident in Emporia Saturday evening.
45-year-old Gary Grana will appear before Judge Doug Jones at 12:45 pm June 17. Following his first appearance will be 18-year-old Raena Grana at 12:45 pm on June 18 also before Judge Jones.
The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal originally had both Grana’s appearing before Judge Jones at 1:15 pm Tuesday.
Raena Grana is facing single charges of aggravated battery and felony interference with law enforcement while Gary Grana has been charged with single counts of battery and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident that unfolded early Saturday night in the 1100 block of Congress.
According to Emporia Police Captain Lisa Hayes, officers responded to the apartment complex at 1101 Congress following several reports of a stabbing. Following their arrival, officers found there was a “neighbor dispute involving multiple people” and a victim, an unnamed male, had suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to the back.
The individual was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment.
