Emporia Golf Course was the site of the Kansas Optimist Junior Qualifier on Friday.
In the boys 16-18 division, Emporia High senior Hudson Sauder finished ninth with a 3-over 74. Council Grove senior Drew Buchman finished 12th also with a 3-over 74. In the boys 14-15 division, Emporia High sophomore Marley Harter finished sixth with an 83. Emporia High freshman Chesney Erkel finished eighth with an 89. In the boys 12-13 division, Emporian Maddex Gurley finished second with an 86. In the boys 10-11 division, Emporian Jaxon Schnakenberg finished second with a 110.
Emporia Golf Course will be busy again this weekend hosting the Men’s and Women’s City Championships.
