With three months to go before the Halfway 2 Everywhere Music and Arts Festival officially takes the stage in downtown Emporia, the musician lineup has been announced.
Nearly 20 musicians and groups will perform, headlined by Moon Hooch and Koo Koo. Other performers are listed below.
The fifth annual event will feature several changes from years past, including the location. Instead of using the 600 and 700 blocks of Commercial and Merchant, as has been the case through the event’s short history, Osterhout is using the 800 and 900 blocks of Commercial — and that’s being done in the name of comfort for all attending.
The main stage will be at the new Food Truck Plaza near 10th and Commercial, and Osterhout says there will be food trucks at that location along with the concert stage. The green space in the 10 block of West Ninth will be another stage location, along with the Art Market for Emporia First Friday and space for busking. Another stage near Eighth and Commercial will include outdoor activities, including disc golf, mini golf, community bike rides, martial arts and axe throwing. The Emporia Granada Theatre will serve as the location for activities Sept. 6.
Meanwhile, Osterhout has been alerting people for months that this will be the first Halfway with an entry fee.
Current cost for general admission tickets is $20 for adults and $10 for youths ages 5-18, with VIP packages also available at $75 and $150. There is an escalating price structure, with prices increasing slightly June 21 and again the week of the festival.
