A mechanical failure was listed as the cause of an injury accident on the Kansas Turnpike early Friday evening.
The accident was reported at Turnpike mile marker 134.6 southbound just after 5 pm. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, a 2020 Ford F350 pickup, driven by 37-year-old Gabriel Bustillos of Wichita, was traveling southbound in the left lane when there was an apparent failure in the left front axle.
Bustillos lost control of the vehicle, entered the median and struck the barrier wall. Bustillos was listed as having possible injuries and complaints of pain, however, the crash log does not say if he was taken to the hospital.
