A missed court appearance for one person in Greenwood County has led to the prospect of formal charges for two people.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says Tyler Armour was supposed to be in court this past Tuesday, but she didn’t appear until Thursday. Deputies say she fled when she learned she had missed court and had a warrant.
As deputies searched, they say they learned Armour had contacted her mother, Sierra Jones, who was poised to help with Armour’s ongoing escape.
Armour was already starting the court process for driving on a suspended license and not having vehicle insurance. Formal charges are now pending on suspicion of flee and elude and failing to appear in court. She has her first appearance on the original counts Aug. 6, with a bond revocation hearing set for Sept. 13.
Jones was arrested on suspicion of obstructing apprehension, unlawful display of registration, no vehicle registration and no insurance. Deputies say Jones’ vehicle had a forged license plate when she was arrested.
