According to the Kansas Department of Commerce, roughly three-quarters of potential customer bases for small-to-medium-sized Kansas companies are located outside of the United States.
With that in mind, the International Division of KDOC has announced the launch of a Kansas Exporters Roundtable series across the state that will offer guidance and assistance to said businesses on how to reach those international customers better. The roundtable series will take place monthly in 12 different Kansas cities over the next year, starting next Wednesday in Hutchinson.
The series will conclude in June, including a stop in Emporia on Wednesday, May 7 at 11:30 am.
In a news release from KDOC, Kansas Lieutenant Governor David Toland stated, “When considering whether or not to start exporting, consider viewing it as essentially expanding your business’ storefront to the entire world. Exporting can bring a much wider customer base, which directly translates into increased sale numbers and profits.”
The series is a collaborative effort with the US Commercial Service and the Small Business Administration and will include information on topics such as:
*How exporting can increase sales revenue
*Information on export financial assistance
*Export success stories or unique lessons
