If you are looking to join the Lyon County Master Gardeners your window of opportunity is now open.
In a news release earlier this week, Lyon County Research and Extension announced the application window for the group is now open through the end of the month. Applications are available at the Lyon County Extension Office, 2632 US Highway 50 in Emporia, and are due by July 31.
Once an application has been received, the applicant will receive a letter with information on orientation and interviews after which individuals will be selected to go through the Master Gardener training process. Training takes place on Thursday afternoons from 1 pm to 4 pm for 12 weeks between September and December and will take place in a hybrid virtual and in-person format.
