An Emporia woman was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision south of Emporia Friday afternoon.
The accident was reported at 4:45 pm at the intersection of Kansas Highway 99 and Road 150, two miles south of Emporia. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Cadillac Escalade, driven by 81-year-old Charles Jeanneret of Olpe, was traveling northbound on K99 behind a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by 24-year-old Neida Rosales of Emporia, when the Traverse slowed to make a turn onto Road 150.
The Escalade failed to slow down and struck the Traverse from behind. Rosales was taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries.
Neither Jeanneret nor a passenger, 80-year-old Donna Jeanneret of Olpe, suffered any apparent injuries. All involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
