A fire destroyed a car on Interstate 35 near Emporia on Monday.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says the car was on Interstate 35 when smoke began developing near the Road R-1 junction around 4:30 pm. All in the car got out safely, but the car was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived. The car was destroyed.
The cause and origination point are currently undetermined.
