“Para tu Salud” translates from Spanish to English as “For Your Health,” and Emporia Spanish Speakers was pleased to offer the Spanish-language community fair for the second straight year on Saturday.
The fair has quickly become an important event for Emporia Spanish Speakers. Organizers Luisana Veliz and Rebeca Herrera spoke to why it’s a big deal, with Herrera providing the English translation.
This year’s event changed locations from the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building to Riverside Elementary. Several physical and mental health organizations had representatives, as did the city of Emporia, Flint Hills Technical College and groups like Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow.
Emporia Spanish Speakers will be busy later this month as it’s involved in Vamos a Explorar in Hartford on July 20.
