Dirt work has resumed for a new hotel in northwest Emporia.
Planning has been underway for months to build a new Fairview hotel facility at 3010 Eaglecrest, the former Montana Mike’s location. The plan is for a nearly 90-room hotel and convention center. Work is beginning three months after the Emporia City Commission approved a development agreement in April — and after the city granted Community Improvement District status for that property and the Hampton Inn next door at 2900 Eaglecrest.
Demolition work started in December 2022. The property had been vacant since 2017.
