Nweman Regional Health has received a Certificate of Commitment to Clinical Excellence through the University of Kansas Health System’s Care Collaborative.
The certificate signifies Newman Regional’s involvement and willingness to use programs applying evidence-based care protocols locally with the goal of making sure patients get the right kind of care when needed and patients stay in their own communities to get the care they need. Hospitals involved in this effort “adopt and adhere” guidelines as approved by the University of Kansas Medical Center, with interative trainng sessions for doctors, non-physician practitioners, nursing and support staff.
The process also includes “regular chart reviews” for medical issues like diabetes, heart attack, sepsis and stroke, and Newman Regional Health staffers have already taken part in Care Collaborative offerings to ensure standardized treatment protocols and best practice guidelines are used for those health concerns along with COVID-19.
