Grace United Methodist Church is once again inviting local families to stop by the church this weekend and pick up some new shoes ahead of a new school year.
The annual Kicks 4 Kids shoe giveaway will take place at the church, 2 Neosho Street, from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday. Spokesman Russ Conrade, a recent guest of KVOE’s Morning Show says the church has well over 400 pairs of shoes to giveaway ranging in sizes from toddler up to size 13.
In prior years, if the church did not have a size available it would place an additional order for shoes ahead of the school year. Conrade says that will not be the case this year.
Those interested in picking up shoes need to park in the parking lot between South Avenue and Neosho and enter the church on the south side. No pre-registration is needed and there is no income qualifying for families to pick up shoes, however, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
