Pretrial and arraignment is next in the court process for Adonis Dailey, accused of vehicular murder in Lyon County stemming from a fatal crash over a year ago.
Dailey was set for an Aug. 30 hearing after his preliminary hearing Tuesday. Dailey was already facing single counts of first-degree murder and flee and elude. Prosecutors requested an alternate flee and elude count and that was approved by Judge Lee Fowler on Tuesday.
Charges follow a crash that killed one man in late April 2023 near the Kansas Turnpike Emporia tollgate, allegedly as part of a Highway Patrol chase. Dailey was allegedly driving at speeds at or above 125 mph during the chase.
Judge Laura Miser will hear the case through trial if needed.
