Homegrown Celebration a sticky, juicy hit

As has been the case now for nearly two decades, the Homegrown Celebration really brought the juice.

Families enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding the annual Homegrown Celebration at the Farmers Market parking lot. Kids enjoyed the watermelon contests, whether for seed spitting, fruit rolling or slice eating. ESB Financial has sponsored the watermelon contests for 19 years, and spokesperson Kandace Wakeman says it was a treat to watch the kids.

Market Coordinator Trisha Fullerton says the partnership with ESB Financial — and others across town — are vital for the market.
