An Emporia man will return to Lyon County District Court later this month as a contraband trafficking case begins.
David Eugene Carlson, age 54, will have his preliminary hearing Aug. 27 after his first official court appearance Wednesday.
Carlson was charged with single counts of trafficking contraband, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after an alleged incident Aug. 2. Carlson is accused of bringing an unspecified amount of meth into the Lyon County Jail as part of that incident.
