A pretrial conference has been slated against a Topeka man accused of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and other charges after an alleged incident in Emporia this past spring.
Tyler Seifert, a Topeka resident, will return to court Aug. 30 after a hearing Friday.
Seifert was charged after an alleged shooting and standoff incident in the 700 block of State from late April. One person had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health for treatment. Seifert also allegedly barricaded himself and several other people inside the house before surrendering to authorities.
Seifert now faces nine counts, including single counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated residential burglary, criminal discharge of a weapon and criminal threat. He is also charged with four counts of aggravated assault. A kidnapping count has been dropped.
