The Emporia State women’s soccer team is the preseason No. 5 team in the 2024 MIAA Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll released today. Washburn is the preseason pick to win the league with nine first place votes while Central Missouri was picked second with three first place votes. Fort Hays State, Northwest Missouri and ESU round out the top five. Missouri Western was selected sixth and received the final first place vote. The Lady Hornets return five players who logged over 1000 minutes on last season’s Sweet 16 team that enters the year nationally ranked #17 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll. ESU opens the year on the road at Minnesota State-Mankato on September 6.
