A low-end severe weather threat Sunday into early Monday never materialized, and only part of the KVOE listening area got any notable rainfall during that time period.
Sunday afternoon and early evening had a slight risk of severe weather, but a storm cluster lost its intensity as it moved southeast out of Nebraska. Brief heavy rain was noted north of Emporia, although rain totals for the affected area have not been relayed to KVOE News.
Overnight had a marginal severe weather risk. Again, there were no reports, and again storms stayed north of Emporia as they pushed to the southeast.

Storms are possible through mid-morning Monday. Nothing severe is expected. The rest of the week looks to be dry and sunny with high temperatures in the 80s through Thursday before a warmup into the mid-90s by the weekend.

9 pm Sunday: Marginal severe weather risk early Monday
After a slight severe weather risk went unrealized across the KVOE listening area Sunday afternoon, a marginal risk is ahead for the overnight hours.
Storms from south-central Nebraska caused a handful of severe thunderstorm warnings in north-central Kansas. That cluster weakened and dropped brief heavy rain just north of Emporia before leaving the area.

The National Weather Service says storms early Monday morning may bring gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain to the area.

9:45 am Sunday: Severe storms possible by mid-afternoon Sunday
Showers and thunderstorms are possible areawide, including a window of possible severe weather by mid-afternoon.
The National Weather Service says storm activity is possible from lunchtime Sunday through sunrise Monday, although chances are slight to moderate through that time period. There is a slight risk of severe weather from mid-afternoon to mid-evening, with wind gusts up to 70 mph as the main hazard. Hail to the size of quarters is also possible.
The Weather Service says there are indications storms moving southeast out of Nebraska could weaken as they approach, meaning showers are as possible as severe weather.
