No injuries were reported, but equipment was damaged after a semi hauling a ride used in the Lyon County Fair carnival was involved in a wreck Sunday morning.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority says the crash happened at mile marker 159 northbound, over 30 miles northeast of the Emporia gate and 12 miles northeast of the Admire tollbooth. The KTA says the semi crashed into the center barrier wall shortly after 11 am following a tire blowout.
Initially, there was no report of damage to the carnival equipment, although the front of the semi suffered notable damage. However, photos from the Kansas Highway Patrol indicate damage to a ride. The extent of damage was not specified.
