The National Weather Service has all area counties in heat advisories from early Saturday afternoon until 8 pm Sunday. As has been the case with previous cases of severe heat earlier this summer, residents are encouraged to wear light and loose-fitting clothes, limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours, take frequent breaks and check on young and elderly alike. Residents are also urged not to leave children or pets in vehicles while out running errands.
