2022 and 2023 were different for Waverly on the gridiron.
The program shifted down from 8-man to 6-man. The Bulldogs were successful in their two years as a 6-man program with a combined record of 19-2. Waverly jumps back to 8-Man Division II after an 8-1 record in 2023.
Waverly returns seniors Andy Foltz, and Colten Woodson, juniors Carter Ohl and Ty Glissman, and sophomores Jayden Wilcox and Dustin Foster.
The Bulldogs will be in the hunt for a district title in a district featuring Crest, Marmaton Valley, and St. Paul. Waverly will also play league games at Burlingame and Lebo, and host Hartford. Waverly opens the season vs. Cornerstone at Lawrence Venitas on Sept. 6.
