So far, so good as USD 252 Southern Lyon County begins classes this month.
Superintendent Ryan Muhlig is into his second year as the district’s leader, and he says things are going smoothly as he continues getting acclimated.
Like all districts across Kansas, USD 252 had to adjust its enrollment policies to account for open enrollment as mandated by lawmakers last year. Muhlig says the main focus was simple: classroom capacity.
Muhlig says USD 252 has a good percentage of incoming transfers every year, so the district’s preparations likely weren’t as big of a hassle as they could have been for other districts.
