Emporia firefighters are investigating after a dumpster fire Sunday night.
Fire Capt. Michael Nunley says crews were dispatched to the Brookfield Apartments in the 2900 block of West 24th at 9:15 pm. Fire crews found heavy damage to the dumpster in question, including the lids being burned off and a nearby fence being charred.
The cause is unclear. No injuries were reported.
