The Emporia High football team opens its season with a road test at Pittsburg.
This is the third year the two teams have met in Week 1 with each team winning on each other’s home field the last two seasons.
Emporia High coach Kaden Glinsmann said the Spartans have to match the Purple Dragons’ intensity.
Senior Madden Seidl said seeing the Flexbone offense at last week’s jamboree was beneficial heading into the season opener.
