The Emporia Golf Course was busy for the 22nd annual All Veterans Tribute Golf Tournament on Saturday.
Longtime organizer Jesse Solis was pleased to see 29 teams — a record — participate in the event.
The tournament raises enough money to provide a meal to the participants, as well as $1,000 checks to the American Legion Post 5, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts 1980 and 7957, World War II Mexican-American Memorial and Ladies’ Auxiliary.
The tournament has served as the lead event in Emporia’s All Veterans Tribute since it started, and core of this year’s Tribute activities will take place from Nov. 4-11, including the annual Quilts of Gratitude exhibit, Veterans Artist Gallery exhibit, Freedom Fest, Veterans Roundtable, parade and memorial service.
