The Emporia State football team moved into the Top 25 after picking up a win over #24 Angelo State on Saturday. The Hornets are #21 in the latest Coaches Poll following Week 1 action in NCAA Division II. Defending national champion Harding remains #1 followed by Central Missouri of the MIAA, Grand Valley State, and the Hornets’ next opponent Pittsburg State with Colorado Mines rounding out the Top 5. Northwest Missouri fell out of the Top 25 after a surprising defeat at Nebraska-Kearney last week while Fort Hays state moved into the poll at #25. The Hornets face the #4 Gorillas in Pittsburg on Saturday with kickoff scheduled at 7:00 p.m.. Pregame coverage is set for 6:00 p.m. on the Hornet Sports Network.
