The Lyon County History Center continues rearranging parts of its interior.
Director Greg Jordan’s bi-weekly update on KVOE’s Morning Show on Wednesday led off with ongoing renovations of the archives department.
Once completed, the east end of the archives will become the public research area. The west side will have the most-used materials in close proximity to researchers and lesser-used items farther away.
While the archives has been closed for several weeks and will be closed for the rest of the month, another area will be closed through September. Starting Monday, the Kids Exploratorium will be shut down for its own rearranging project, which also includes deep cleaning. The entire building will be closed Saturday for the Great American Market.
The History Center is getting ready for its Cultura Day on Sept. 18 in partnership with Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow. The free event will feature music, dancing, refreshments and a fashion show.
