Emporia City Commissioners are meeting at a later time for their regular action session Wednesday.
Commissioners will convene at 1:30 pm inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium where they will have several matters to consider. A major point of conversation will be on a charter ordinance that, if approved, would exempt the city from certain provisions of state statutes related to public building commissions.
This item comes as the city is considering the establishment of such a commission that would have the ability to issue PBC bonds.
Another notable item up for consideration will be approval of a license agreement for White Memorial Park which is adjacent to the Gazette Collective building development at 517 Merchant. If approved, developers would pay an annual license of $1,200 with the park continuing to be open to the public and the space not included in the licensed use area continuing to function as a public park.
Other items of consideration will include approval of an evaluation and master plan for the city’s water treatment plant, an airport apron expansion design agreement and a resolution from the City of Wichita regarding intent to issue health care facilities revenue bonds. Commissioners also have one executive session planned.
There will be no study session following the action agenda.
