The Emporia High cross country teams got a pair of top five team finishes at the Baldwin Invitational on Saturday.
The Spartans finished fourth as a team with 117 points, the first meet this season they’ve fielded a full team to record a team score. Gideon Lowery led the Spartans with a fourth place finish with a time of 17:05.89. Xaden Delgado finished 14th with a time of 17:52.54. Kasen Van Sickle finished 19th with a time of 18:05.47. Edgar Gomez finished 26th with a time of 18:16.82. Brayden Shaw finished 59th with a time of 19:32.02.
The Lady Spartan finished in fifth place with 124 points. Madison Evans finished seventh with a time of 20:03.07. Emma Beatty finished 13th with a time of 20:30.22. Amelia Lowery finished 40th with a time of 22:39.71. Ivanna Ordunno finished 43rd with a time of 22:47.30. Allison Curtis finished 45th (23:03.19), Bailee Van Sickle took 49th (23:18.45) and Reagan Thompson finished 56th (23:50.15).
Emporia High will participate in the Rim Rock Classic next Saturday at Rim Rock Farms outside of Lawrence.
