Flu shots are now readily available across Emporia, and CareArc is getting ready for its annual drive-thru flu shot clinic.
The date is Oct. 4 from 7:30 am to 4 pm at the CareArc west canopy.
The clinic is free with most insurance providers or $30, payable by cash or check, for residents without insurance. It’s also available for people ages 10 and up. Residents using this service are asked to fill out consent forms, available online at carearc.org/forms, and wear short sleeves to speed the process along.
The clinic offers standard-dose flu vaccines. High-dose vaccines, typically for the elderly, along with nasal flu vaccines, egg-free flu vaccines and COVID-19 vaccines will not be available.
