Expect “A Storybook Christmas” this year — at least as organized by the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber’s 46th annual Community Christmas Parade is Dec. 3. Activities will begin with the traditional Christmas Dedication in front of the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial, shortly after 6 pm. The parade begins at 7 pm and will take the traditional route — Commercial Street from Fourth to 12th.
There will be a new feature to this year’s event: a Sensory Block, and Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna is excited about this effort to make the parade more inclusive.
Residents, businesses and organizations interested in participating in the parade can go online to emporiakschamber.org/christmas-parade to fill out entry forms. Those forms are also available in paper form at the Trusler Business Center. The participation deadline is 5 pm Nov. 8.
Residents with questions can call the Chamber at 620-342-1600 or email chamber@emporiakschamber.org.
