Two doctors meeting obstetrics needs locally will continue to do so, although they are switching hospital systems in the process.
Drs. Christina Faulkner and Deshala Castille will go from Stormont Vail’s Cotton-O’Neil Emporia Clinic to Newman Regional Health at the end of this year. Newman Regional Health Executive Director of Strategy & Development Steven Bazan says the doctors “remain committed to meeting the obstetrical and gynecological needs of patients” and “both highly-regarded physicians have been invaluable members of the medical staff and community.”
A statement from Stormont says the hospital is “proud they are staying in Emporia to continue to ensure Emporia mothers and babies receive great care. We look forward to continuing to work with them as the Stormont Vail Emporia team continues providing excellent pediatric, primary care and specialty care to the Emporia and Lyon County area.”
Stormont Vail’s local OB/GYN team includes Drs. Sam Tovar, Pamela Harrison and Megan Northup, along with pediatrician Dr. Christy Jansen. Northup will move her practice to Stormont’s Lincoln Center Clinic in Topeka with a limited practice in Emporia. Stormont says it will connect OB/GYN patients in and around Emporia to its obstetrical care, family practice and internal medicine doctors locally.
