A Council Grove teenager was hospitalized after a fatal crash in northwest Kansas on Friday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pickup crashed on Thomas County Road 21 near a Y-type intersection with a private drive. The truck, driven by 18-year-old Kade Homm of Flagger, Colorado, left the road and went between the fork in the road, striking a tree row in the process.
19-year0old Emma Brungardt of Blue Rapids, Kansas, was killed in the wreck. Homm and four others in the truck, including 18-year-old Lakeddah Downs of Council Grove, were hospitalized at Citizens Medical Center in Colby for possible injuries.
