The Emporia State volleyball team picked up two honors from the MIAA after going 2-0 in their season-opening homestand last weekend. Senior outside hitter Weronika Wrzesinska was named the MIAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore Brailee Bogle was named the Setter of the Week. Wrzesinska dominated Pittsburg State in the Lady Hornets’ win Friday with a career-high 29 kills, the most in the country in a 3-set match this season. She added 15 in a win over Newman Saturday. Bogle tallied 79 assists over the weekend and is averaging 11.4 assists per set, good for second-most in the MIAA. E-State returns to action Tuesday facing Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle in Topeka tomorrow. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. from Lee Arena.
