Five members of the Emporia High boys soccer team recorded goals in an 8-0 mercy rule victory over Pittsburg Thursday night at the EHS Turf Field.
Senior Damian Garcilazo and sophomore Brayden Sailer led the way each with two. Junior Kevin Magana, sophomore Braxton Pugh and senior Corbin B’Hymer and Emilio Aleman each had one. Sailer said it felt good to score twice in the match.
Emporia High coach Victor Ibarra said it was a good way to bounce back after Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to Wichita Trinity.
Emporia High (5-7) hosts Washburn Rural at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
