Northern Heights sophomore Ellei McCrory and Lebo senior Caleb Durst won their respective races at the Lyon County League Championships held at The Orchard on Thursday.
McCrory finished with a time of 20:41, nine seconds ahead of her teammate Josie Tiffany. Olpe’s Lilly Skalsky finished third (20:53). Lebo’s Kennah Speer was fourth (21:36) and Madison’s Lilly Hudson took fifth (22:05). Northern Heights won the team title with 21 points with Lebo finishing second with 34 points.
Durst won the boys league title with a run of 16:28, 20 seconds ahead of Olpe’s Kaleb Arnold. Hartford’s Cody Cleveland finished third (18:24). Northern Heights’ Rees Spade finished fourth (18:43), while Cooper Spade finished fifth (19:14). Northern Heights claimed the league title as the only school to field a full team with 15 points.
