The Emporia High cross country teams both finished fourth at the Centennial League Championships hosted by Washburn Rural in Topeka.
Emporia High had four place in the top 20 on the girls side. Madison Evans led the Lady Spartans with an eighth-place finish (19:25.70). Emma Beatty was 11th (19:59.50). Ivanna Orduno finished 19th (21:11.50) and Allison Curtis took 20th (21:44.70). Bailee VanSickle rounded out the lineup for the Lady Spartans taking 24th (22:18.30).
As a team, the Lady Spartans finished with 77 points.
On the boys, the Spartans had two place in the top 20. Gideon Lowery led the way with a 12th-place finish (16:45.30). Xaden Delgado finished 15th (16:55.70). Kasen VanSickle was 27th (17:49.70), Edgar Gomez took 30th (18:28.30) and Brayden Shaw finished 32nd (19:04.60).
As a team, the Spartans finished with 116 points.
Emporia High will gear up for regionals next Saturday at Brown Thrush Park in Wichita.
