Four area volleyball teams won regional championships on Tuesday.
In Class 1A Division I at Madison in a Class 1A Division I regional the Bulldogs went 3-0 defeating Colony-Crest (25-17, 25-27, 25-22), Marmaton Valley (25-18, 25-6) and Sedan (25-7, 25-11). At Burlingame, the Bearcats went 3-0 defeating Northern Heights (25-23, 25-14), Bishop Seabury (28-26, 25-16) and Rural Vista (25-14, 25-12). Northern Heights also lost to Bishop Seabury (25-21, 25-21) and Rural Vista (25-15, 23-25, 25-14).At Flinthills, Olpe was the regional runner-up going 1-1. Olpe defeated Canton-Galva (25-17, 23-25, 25-18) and fell to Flinthills (25-16, 25-18).
In Class 1A Division II at Lebo, the Wolves went 2-0 defeating Waverly (25-5, 25-11) and Caldwell (25-13, 25-11). Waverly was defeated by Caldwell (25-23, 25-21).At Hartford, Marais des Cygnes Valley went 3-0 in its regional. MdCV defeated Chetopa (25-9, 25-8), South Barber (25-14, 25-21) and St. Paul (25-19, 25-15). Hartford finished as a regional runner-up defeating Altoona-Midway (25-13, 25-7) before falling to Argonia (25-8, 25-11).
Sub-State pairings were announced Wednesday morning. Lebo will host a 1A-Division II Sub-State and face Southern Coffey County with the other semifinal being MdCV and Hartford. In Class 1A-DI, Madison will travel to Flinthills, Olpe will head to Little River and Burlingame will head to Troy.
