The Emporia State soccer team couldn’t find its offense in the second half in a 3-2 loss to Nebraska-Kearney. ESU played to a 2-2 tie after 45 minutes on first half goals by Mikhaela Goen and Ruby Ryan. Madeline Bracy and Abby Bachman picked up assists. UNK scored the go ahead goal with just over 27 minutes to play, but ESU was outshot 8-3 in the second half on the way to being outshot 11-7 overall. Mackenzi Goen had five saves in net for E-State. The Lady Hornets (5-6-2, 3-4-1) will make the trip across the MIAA footprint for a Sunday afternoon matchup at Central Missouri. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
