Four Emporia High cross country runners qualified for next weekend’s Class 5A State Championships at Rim Rock Farms outside of Lawrence at regionals in Wichita on Saturday.
On the girls side, Madison Evans and Emma Beatty qualified for state. Evans finished eighth with a time of 19:18.27 while Beatty finished 14th with a time 19:38.96.
On the boys side, Gideon Lowery and Xaden Delgado qualified for state. Delgado finished ninth with a time of 16:26.22 while Lowery finished 15th with a time of 16:38.58.
Both teams finished fifth in the team standings.
Beatty and Evans will run at 10 a.m. while Delgado and Lowery will run at 11:45 a.m. next Saturday at Rim Rock Farms.
