The Emporia State men’s disc golf team qualified for nationals by finishing tied for second place in the RAH Blue division of the Midwest Collegiate Takeover at Northwood Park in Morton, Ill on Sunday. The Hornet team of Justin Farrell, T. J. Reel, Cade Kohlmeier, and Micah Tatro fired a -24 to finish 10 shots back of the University of Cincinnati’s A team and tied with the A team of Illinois State. Emporia State had the lead by one after round one, but gave ground back to the field in their second round as scoring became more difficult. ESU had the second-best score for the third round but the Bearcats were the only team with three rounds under 50. Emporia State returns to action at the Mid-American Regional Championships in Emporia on November 9 and 10.
