A Fort Riley man accused of leading a law enforcement pursuit around and then into Emporia late last week will have a preliminary hearing soon.
During his first official court appearance Tuesday, Joshua Guthrie was set for a preliminary hearing at 3 pm Monday.
Lyon County deputies say Guthrie, age 22, was driving at a high rate of speed on Interstate 35 around Emporia Friday afternoon. Deputies also say Guthrie fled an attempted traffic stop near I-35, East 12th and Burlingame before crashing into two parked pickup trucks at Bluestem Apartments.
Guthrie has been charged with one count of flee and elude with an alternate flee and elude charge also listed.
