Drought conditions are stable across the KVOE listening area, despite warm, windy weather for much of the week.
Moderate drought, or Level 2 on the US Drought Monitor’s 5-point scale, covers the entire KVOE listening area. Severe drought, or Level 3, is in far south Greenwood, far north Morris and the north half of Wabaunsee counties.
Rain from Wednesday — anywhere from half an inch to almost three inches — came too late to affect the update announced Thursday morning. However, early projections have another 3-6 inches of rain for area residents between early Saturday morning and Monday night.
