The cause of a house fire in east Emporia has been ruled undetermined.
Emporia Fire was called to 924 Weaver Street around 1:20 pm Friday for a house fire. According to EFD, the cause of the fire is undetermined, however, it has been ruled accidental.
Full details are still pending, however, a back porch was scorched by the flames with smoke damage noted inside but it is unclear if the fire extended inside the home and where it originated from.
No injuries were reported.
4 pm Friday: UPDATE: Investigation underway following house fire in east Emporia Friday
Emporia Fire is investigating after a fire damaged a portion of a home in east Emporia Friday afternoon.
Crews were called to 924 Weaver Street around 1:20 pm for a reported house fire. According to Batallion Chief Tony Fuller, flames were present on the backside of the home upon EFD’s arrival at the scene.
Firefighters quickly got the flames under control but not before it caused an undisclosed amount of damage to a back porch. Fuller also says there was smoke damage inside of the home, however, it is unclear at this time if the fire extended inside of the residence.

Emporia Fire is investigating a house fire that was noticed early Friday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to 924 Weaver around 1:20 pm. Additional details about the fire are currently pending.
Weaver is currently blocked from US Highway 50 north to 10th.
