The Emporia State women’s soccer team picked up a critical 1-0 win over Northwest Missouri at Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo. on Sunday. Senior Hadlie Lowe came up with the only goal for the Lady Hornets scoring with under 20 minutes to play, less than 48 hours after scoring with less than a minute to go to give ESU a draw with Missouri Western on Friday. Lowe leads the team with five goals on the season and has been the main offensive threat this year with 25 shots and a team-high 14 shots on goal and came through again on Sunday. The Lady Hornet defense had to withstand an offensive onslaught from the Bearcats who outshot E-State 20-9 in the match and had four corner kicks to ESU’s one. The Lady Hornets (6-7-3, 4-5-2 MIAA) return home for their regular season finale Wednesday to host Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. on the ESU Soccer Pitch.
