Part of Lyon County’s road network remains off limits until further notice after heavy rainfall this past weekend into Monday.
*Road 140 at J, both northbound and eastbound
*Road 140 at Kansas Highway 99, westbound
*Road 140 at K, both eastbound and westbound
*Road 150 from J to Kansas Highway 99; from P to R
*Road 240 at E, both eastbound and westbound
*Road P from 140 to 150
Area residents got anywhere from 2.3 to nearly 6 inches of rain. However, neighboring counties did not report any road closures due to the rainfall.
This follows half an inch to 3 inches of rainfall areawide this past Wednesday and precedes another chance of rain Friday through Saturday. The National Weather Service says some locations could get 1-2 inches of rain from showers throughout that period along with embedded thunderstorms before sunrise Saturday.
