Updates, purchases and a possible move on property are involved in the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education agenda this week.
Board members will have their first readings of board policy updates and the 2025-25 Emporia High course guide as part of separate agenda items. They could also purchase new uniforms for the Emporia High Spartan Pride Band at a cost of over $105,000, and they could approve an item offering graduating eighth grade and 12th grade students a chance to buy their assigned Chromebook at a cost of $20.
Two executive sessions are planned. One deals with acquisition of currently-unnamed property. The other is a standard evaluation of Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder.
Also, board members will get an update on the work of the Rec Center Steering Committee towards a new public recreation building at Champions Landing.
The meeting starts at 5 pm at Mary Herbert Education Center.
